Jules Kehoe Women in Maritime Scholarship Fund

About the Scholarship

The NMI Foundation Jules Kehoe Women in Maritime Scholarship was created to support female students with an interest in a career in the maritime industry to complete a Nautical Science degree at Northeast Maritime Institute. The scholarship has a value of $11,000.00 annually for a maximum term of two years to be applied to the Northeast Maritime Institute Associate in Applied Nautical Science degree program tuition.

Senior Chief Jules Kehoe was a highly respected and much loved faculty member in the Nautical Science Department who left us much too soon. Senior Chief Kehoe retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Boatswains Mate prior to starting with NMI’s program, after an honorable career serving her country and contributing to the safety of our seas.

Jules embodied humility and fortitude and was a powerful example to all of our students for how to carry themselves with dignity and pride and get jobs done honestly and well.
